NEAT COMPETITION SHORTLIST

In collaboration with Studio Zanardo, Studio R were selected for the shortlist of the NEAT housing competition in Canberra. A total of 61 entries were submitted from around Australia showcasing ideas for innovation in the affordable housing sector. Our approach hinged on the creation of well defined public spaces and the design of a diversity of housing types suited specifically to the size, shape and orientation of new subdivisions. The flexibility of the strategy allows it to be applied to any site in Canberra, enabling the design of efficient new housing types capable of achieving excellent amenity whilst promoting a responsible and sustainable increase in density.
