Hafele's new showroom & office opened after a very speedy 4 month construction period. The building sits at the head of a large indutrial site in Smeaton Grange. The exteriors are vibrant picking up on the corporate image of Hafele while the interiors are raw with most materials left in their natural state. For more photos click here

Star students Yassi and Felix took part in Urban Islands, an intensive design studio based on Cockatoo island. Both Yassi and Felix worked with Flores Prats and honed their hand drawing skills. The Studio [R] pencil was featured in the exhibition

The new office for Richardson and Wrench Coogee is now complete. The design features Bolon vinyl floors, Christopher Boots light and Deleted Scene artwork. The board room has a custom table made from raw black steel and marble. Check out some photos here

Winning Appliances showroom opened in Redfern on June 13. Studio [R] were involved in the design of the Electrolux and Westinghouse displays as well as the Winning staff kitchen.

We have just completed a new cabana building and associated landscaping works for a pool in Seaforth. The cabana includes a home office with our favourite desk lamps - the Otto Watt from Luceplan supplied by JSB. We will publish some more photos shortly in the RESIDENTIAL section.

We have just received new photos of the recently completed Bellevue Hill House. The project is an extensive refurbishment and extension of an existing house, and features interiors by Tonka Andjelkovic Design and landscape design by 360degrees. We have just completed a refurbishment of the lounge area at WakeUp! backpackers. The project included a new dining room and a large wave-like tiered joinery unit where the guests can relax and watch TV and rented movies.

Our High Street Bowral shopping arcade has been featured in a new book by publisher Monsa titled Green City - Contemporray Urban Design. High Street is the only Australian example selected, with most other projects located in Europe and some in the US.

We have reached lock-up stage at the first floor of the Gymea Bay House II project. The new bedroom volume is clad in an off-white aluminium panel. The roof is finished in the same colour as the walls to make the whole crisp block appear to be floating above the established landscape.
We are looking forward to seeing the ground floor completed in the new year.
